Quick Launch

April is Autism Awareness Month

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disorder that affects an individual’s ability to communicate and interact with others. The incidence of ASD has been increasing and is the fastest-growing developmental disability. As of 2014, the CDC reported the prevalence of autism in children in the United States as 1 in 68. More than 3.5 million Americans are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. April is celebrated as a time to raise awareness of ASD, supporting people on the spectrum.
