Texas Education Agency has issued a Planning Supports Guidebook for Students with Disabilities for the 2020 – 2021 school year.

According to the Guidebook, the document is meant to

  • Provide information, considerations, and resources to help plan for students with disabilities as schools re-open and into school year (SY) 20-21
  • Assist LEAs in developing coherence and continuity in their processes and procedures for ensuring a free appropriate public education (FAPE) for all students with disabilities
  • Emphasize specific requirements and considerations for students with disabilities relevant to a strong start to the 2020-2021 school year and beyond.

Of particular interest to school-based occupational therapists and physical therapists is the information regarding related services and occupational therapy and physical therapy on pages 35 – 37.
